In Madrid held presentation of economic and investment potential of the Republic of Uzbekistan
In Madrid held presentation of economic and investment potential of the Republic of Uzbekistan, organized by the Embassy of our country in Spain and the company Sercobe.
The event was attended by representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Madrid, the Spanish major manufacturers of household appliances, textile products, construction materials, interested in establishing cooperation with the Uzbek businessmen.
Participants of the presentation were thoroughly informed on the main results of socio-economic development in 2014 and the most important priorities of economic program for 2015. They got acquainted with socio-economic reforms ongoing in our country to create a favorable investment climate. Particular attention was drawn to the possibility of operating in the Republic of special industrial zones and implementing them in future projects, as well as an extensive system of privileges and preferences for foreign investors.
In an interview with information agency "Jahon", some of the participants shared their impressions.
Director for Eastern Europe and CIS of company Sercobe E.Rodrigez positively assessed the economic development of Uzbekistan, noted the following:
- GDP growth at 8.1% in 2014 - an indicator of sustainable economic development of the country. Today's event allowed the Spanish companies to further learn about the possibilities of the Uzbek market, in particular, tax incentives for foreign investors. Currently, Uzbekistan has successfully implemented a number of joint projects with companies from Spain, for example, for technological re-equipment of industrial enterprises. Created by the Government of the Republic of additional investment opportunities is a growing interest among Spanish companies.
Director for Eastern Europe and Asia of company Acciona X.Fernandes noted that due to the measures undertaken by the Government in Uzbekistan there is a high rate of economic development, which is a good factor for attracting foreign investors.
- In this connection, great interest among Spanish entrepreneurs is the implementation of joint projects in FIEZ "Navoi" and SIZ "Angren" - he said.
CEO of TORO Co. F.Algara expressed interest in establishing cooperation with Uzbek companies that specialize in the field of light industry.
- Uzbekistan has a leading position in the global cotton market, as well as in the production of textile products. In this regard, our company intends in the near future to consider the creation of a joint venture for the production of ready-made garments. Currently, we carefully study the possibilities in this direction, - said Spanish businessman.
