Gross regional product (GRP) of Navoi region of Uzbekistan increased by 4% in 2014, the session of local council said.

Industrial output of the region rose by 2.8%, production of consumer goods – 5.1%, agriculture production – 7%, retail trade turnover – 15.3%, paid services to population – 14.9% and construction works – 8.4%.

In the reporting period, the region attracted 1.5 trillion soums of investments into economy, of which 176.7 billion soums were foreign investments.

Two large projects with total cost of 27.1 billion soums were implemented in the region. About 231 production projects were realized in Navoi region in 2014.

The share of services in gross regional product made up 27.8%. Currently, 415% of employed population are working in this sector.

Navoi region exported 47 types of products fo US$460.4 million in 2014. The region constructed 160.6 km of water pipes, 58.3 km of electricity lines, 21.4 km of gas pipelines, 65.3 km of automobile roads in 2014. About 33 billion soums were directed to this direction.

In the reporting period, 762 new small businesses were launched in 2014. In last five years, share of small businesses in GRP rose from 29.1% to 36.9%.
