Over recent years, one of the factors in the increase of the economy is to attract investments for modernization, technical and technological renovation of industrial production involved to the creation of free economic zones, including in 2009 - Free Industrial Economic Zone "Navoi", in 2012-2013 - special industrial zones "Angren" and "Jizzakh."

Creation of free economic zones provided additional conditions and mechanisms to expand investment activities of foreign investors and helped to launch production of competitive products both in internal and external markets such as telecommunication, oil and gas equipment, chemical products, construction materials, automobile components, etc.

Currently, some 36 projects investment projects with total cost of about US$300 million were implemented in these free economic zones, the ministry said.

The zones also allowed to use rich raw materials and labour forces in the regions to launch production of modern export-oriented industrial goods, which helps to employment and improving well-being of population.
